Multimedia on Canvas board, glass and frame

“The DOOR” holds a special place in my heart as a statement about the fear of change. It was developed during a transitional period in my life, when the goal was difficult to see, and the way through—the black door, represented by the central black rectangle—was terrifying. But when a viewer stands directly in front of the piece, they can see themselves reflected back in the intimidating door, illuminating the previously dark space with their presence.

When I look at this painting, it reminds me that, no matter what changes are ahead, I am still me, and as long as I know who I am, I will be alright.
